 Developed by Tom Wagner of Bakersfield, California and released by his "Tater Mater Seeds" in 1983 and the result of over 25 years of breeding selection by Wagner who has bred tomatoes since 1954. Wagner states that four heirloom varieties made up the composite of his breeding to establish this variety. Rich golden green, tennis ball sized tomatoes with forest green colored stripes. Crack resistant with a tangy, original, well balanced taste. On the produce market, Green Zebras have been known to sell for as much as $5.00 U.S. per pound! Low in acid. Indeterminate. Matures about 75 days.
