Tamil Nadu is the southernmost state of India and the exact opposite climate wise of Kashmir! It is believed eggplant originated there as well. This was a nice medium purple slightly teardropped shaped fruit. Very prolific bushy plants with lovely ornamental purple flowers. The medium sized eggplant had nice sweet white flesh with very little bitterness. All the seeds were at the very bottom of the fruits too, making for fine eating and cooking. Arumugam is a common name in that area of India.
