This excellent shelling pea is a very prolific producer of well-filled, 3 inch long pea pods. Each nodule typically yields two pods opposed to the usual one, which allows the Oregon Trail Pea to produce incredible yields of delicious, firmly textured peas that retain their dark green color when cooked, even after freezing. The three foot high vines are best grown on a trellis or a wire. Excels when used fresh, canned or frozen. Resistant to powdery mildew and pea enation. This extremely hardy variety is a wonderful pea for gardeners living in the Pacific North West! Go to table of pea varieties |
