OAC Prudence PDF Print E-mail

OAC Prudence is an innovative ultra-short season soybean (2450 crop heat unit rating) with a true yellow hilum, large seed and high protein content, making it ideal for food grade status and Identity Preserved export markets. Dr. Istvan Rajcan, University of Guelph, developed the variety, which is grown in short season regions of Quebec and Ontario with consistently high yields. The variety has made the biggest impact in Manitoba, becoming established in an environment that traditionally doesn’t favour growing soybeans. OAC Prudence has been the number one soybean variety grown in Manitoba for the past five years. The variety’s success is attracting further attention from Japanese buyers and non-GMO end users.
