Natto 3 is a natto soybean cultivar jointly developed at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's Eastern Cereal and Research Centre, Ottawa, Ontario, and Greenhouse and Processing Crops Research Centre, Harrow, Ontario. It is intended for production in the 3200 to 3400 crop heat unit (CHU) areas of southern Canada. It is being released as the first publicly developed natto soybean cultivar for the 3200 to 3400 CHU areas of Canada. Natto 3 has a determinate stem termination type, purple flowers, purple hypocotyls, grey pubescence, and tan pods. The seeds are dull yellow with yellow hila.
