75 days
Luscious is an organically grown bicolor corn that really lives up to its name! It has superb sweetness and tenderness and a crop time of only 75 days. 8” long ears with 16-18 rows of kernels. An (se) variety, it will hold its wonderful sweetness for 3-4 days after picking. Great fresh, but can also be canned or frozen.
Exceptional butter-sweet flavor
Best grown above the 40th parallel
Easy to pick ears are waist high with good tip fill and cover. Moderate resistance to Stewart’s Wilt and Rust.
When to plant outside:
Recommended. Spring, a week or two after the average last spring frost date and when soil is warm (60-65 degrees). SOIL MUST BE WARM FOR GERMINATION TO OCCUR.
When to start inside:
Corn seed does not transplant well. Outdoor sowing is recommended.
Special sowing and germination instructions:
Corn is easy to grow from seed. For best results, provide optimal germination conditions in your garden including ½” planting depth and warm soil Since pollination occurs from wind, seed should be planted in blocks. Sow 6” apart and thin to 1’ apart. This (se) variety should be separated from field corn, popcorn, and SH² (super sweet) varieties by 250 feet to prevent cross-pollination. Staggering plantings with a 10-15 plus day maturity difference will allow closer plantings where cross-pollination is a concern.
