The classic standard hybrid famous for quality and flavor. Plant produces good yields of delicious sweet yellow corn. Ears 8" long with 10-14 rows of golden yellow kernels. To enjoy it at it's best, it should be eaten as soon as possible after ears are pulled from the stalks.
Harvest 85 days after sowing.
This variety grows well in most soils. Excellent variety.
Plant height: 8 ft tall.
Very sweet and excellent eating, canning and freezing.
Special directions for short season climates:
Sowing: Outdoors in late spring, when soil is warm. After danger of frost and cool weather have passed. Sow seeds 4 to 6 inches apart and 1 inch deep.
Spacing: Rows should be spaced about 2'A feet apart.
Thinning: When established seedlings are 2 to 3 inches tall, thin them to 8 to 12 inches apart.
Germination: Usually 7 to 10 days. Keep moderately moist during germination. Plant in full sun.
Special advice:
To conserve space and for the best pollination, plant in blocks made up of short rows, thinned to 8 to 12 inches apart in all directions. Fertilize and cultivate soil prior to planting. To preserve best flavor and tenderness, pick corn just a few minutes before use.
