High yielding and stringless French Beans with an excellent flavour. Bush green bean. Plants bear straight, 5- to 6-inch stringless pods. These long pods are dark blue, fleshy and tender and turn green when cooked. Highly decorative bean for the vegetable garden or flower border. Originally introduced by Gurney's Seed Co. as Experimental Bean 121, it was re-named Empress in 1979. Considered our very best snap bean, it is for fresh eating, freezing or processing. It has heavy yields of large, straight, green, 5-6" pods. Incredible flavor. Best snap bean for fresh eating, freezing or processing.
