CDC Viceroy is high yielding and resistant to ascochyta blight and Race 1 anthracnose.
This variety that has similar seed characteristics to Eston, but with much improved disease resistance to Ascochyta Blight and Race 1 Anthracnose. It is an early maturing variety and is one of the higher yielding small green types. It has an average plant height of 34 cm (13.4 in.). Seed size is just slightly smaller than CDC Milestone.
Small green lentils account for about 20 per cent of the total green lentil area with CDC Viceroy making up about 60 per cent and the rest being split between Eston and CDC Milestone
CDC Viceroy has better retention of green colour compared to other varieties.
CDC Viceroy is the new yield champion of all lentils in North Dakota and Montana. It is a small-seeded green lentil with good resistance to Ascochyta blight and Anthracnose Race 1. CDC Viceroy is early to medium in maturity and is similar to CDC Redberry in plant height and harvest ease.
