First introduced in the 1850's, this heirloom Bush Bean is a very prolific producer. Produces dark green 6 inch pods with a stunning, unique flavor that make ideal snap beans. The dry seeds are jet black. This variety can also be used as a dry soup bean. This bean was legendary amongst gardeners - it produces masses of delicious, tender, straight, 6" long green beans very early in the season. Leave some pods to dry on the bush. The glossy, dry, black beans make a legendary black bean soup. Black Valentine Green Beans are productive and succulent. A New York heirloom first introduced in the mid 19th Century, Black Valentine has a bush habit, and its tasty green bean pods are great fresh and snappy.
