This white-seeded bean is from the Harlan/Letcher county area in Southeastern Kentucky. It is well known in that area as an excellent fresh bean, canning bean, and shuck bean. Along the same line of the Barnes Mountain bean but somewhat shorter and lighter in color is this bean, which originated in Letcher County, Kentucky. Go to table of bean varieties
