Description:
Semidwarf hard red spring wheat variety. Reeder is an awned, medium height semi-dwarf hard red spring wheat. The medium to small sized oblong
kernels are red and very uniform. Reeder has a intermediate maturity. Plant height averages 35 inches and straw strength is good.  Planting:
Reeder is widely adapted and fits throughout the state. Reeder was developed for western and central North Dakota, but yield trial results have proven that Reeder gives good yields with excellent grain quality in Minnesota.
Creation:
Reeder resulted from a complex cross involving a relative of Stoa, an NDSU experimental line and germplasm from a breeding program in Brazil.
