Description:
Spring/ Winter, hard. Red Fife is characterized by three little awns at the top of the head of wheat but otherwise is awnless. The straws can be 3-5 feet tall depending on the nutrients available to the plant in the soil.
Creation:
Efforts made to locate the territory from which the seed was derived were never successful, and the origin of the new wheat was looked upon as an accidental occurrence.
